Rachelle & Judson Surprise Wedding Vow Renewal on March 16, 2012
Romance anyone? Judson had contacted me to plan a surprise Wedding Vow renewal. They got married last year and felt they had missed so much that comes with the planning that special day and including your family, friends. He wanted them to be able to read their vows to each other, one to one and have the ceremony on the beach just for the two of them under a beautiful arch in Laguna Beach.
Did we mention, it was a complete surprise!
Judson had told her to pack for a beach weekend and buy a new sun dress. He drove her to Hotel Laguna with a blindfold on and I met them in the lobby and we walked outside to the terrace. Judson left to meet her down to the sand at the ceremony site and I removed the blindfold – she started to cry and was so surprised.
Rachelle grew up in Laguna Beach so we thought it would be wonderful to hold the ceremony close to a place that felt like home and
their first date was at Salernos so the photographer took them downtown for photos at the restaurant and returned to the beach for photos to capture these romantic memories.
After renewing their vows Rachelle & Judson released two doves and last but not least kissed the bride!
It was our pleasure to help Judson plan this romantic renewal of vows in Laguna Beach and we just have to mention the special people who helped make it happen!

Casa Romantica in San Clemente was the perfect location for Megan & Brian’s Wedding! Megan grew up in San Clemente and Brian really wanted their photos to include the beautiful, near by beach. You will notice how fitting it is with the vintage ocean theme, starfish, sand dollars and a meaningful walk on the beach to remember.
A family friend performed the ceremony for the Wedding followed by heartfelt speeches by the Fathers of the couple that will be cherished moments when Megan & Brian look back on their special day.
Megan & Brian chose a Vintage Ocean Theme for their Wedding and with the help of the Flower Company of San Clemente and the stunning creativity of Megan and her Mother with the beautiful candy table, stained glass and sand dollars guest placeholders to add all the right touches.
Photographer, Kate Noelle did a beautiful job capturing the magic and beauty of the day as well as the couple wish to be photographed at the beach…… they even made it back on time for the Grand Entrance in front of all their loved ones.

Alisha & John met and fell in love at work and are blending families and celebrating their special day with unique touches at the beautiful Dove Canyon Country Club with their children, family and friends.
A little pre-wedding tid bit – Photos were taken at Rancho Capistrano before the wedding and the whole family did a sand ceremony performed by Reverend Brent. It was a touching, heartfelt, personal ceremony filled with laughter.
Family, friends and the kids were so excited for this day and it showed in the smiles on everyone’s faces…
Everyone participated in making this day special, John’s Mother did the calligraphy for the guests names in the decorative black frames.
Kendra the photographer, created a photo booth with this stunning backdrop and chandelier, there were instant photos and they were placed in the album signed by the guests with well wishes.
Another Wedding Secret… The food at Dove Canyon was to die for, but as a late night snack Alisha & John arranged for a Fatburger truck to arrive at 10:00 PM to keep the party going all night!
Another happy couple, who headed off to Hawaii for the honeymoon after their fabulous Wedding and FUN reception. The day would not be complete without mentioning all the special vendors that helped make this day meaningful and memorable for Alisha & John and their family and friends.

When Cathy & Jon decided to have a wedding the rules were simple. They wanted something sweet and meaningful. She didn’t want to be the center of attention. No walking down the aisle {she walked from the side}, no formal pictures of herself, and her beautiful daughters and handsome son were to be included. Jon just wanted everyone to have fun with some ol’fashion wedding traditions, southern style, like his accent.
The couple shared a love of music which was evident in every aspect of their wedding. The Silver Trumpet restaurant was the perfect place for the dancing couple. Big Brass instruments decorated both the restaurant and the reception. A stand up Bass welcomed guests in, and a live band inside beckoned them to stay and have fun.
To both enhance and soften the décor the bride chose Gold satin linens for all her tables with gorgeous and full centerpieces from the always elegant French Buckets.
The Officiant, Thomas Potwora, is an School Principal who discovered his knack for weddings by chance. A friend asked him to conduct their ceremony and he took the job very seriously. After rave reviews he began receiving calls from guests asking him to conduct their weddings. He combined his creative writing talents with his passion for making each wedding unique.
Sweet and meaningful certainly described this wedding, and the couple’s relationship in general.
The challenge with this event was finding a perfect middle ground. The Bride, Cathy did not want to be showy and tried to keep everything on a smaller scale, but also wanted everything to be grand and beautiful and it was just that!

Shortly after, I met Ernie, full of energy, ideas and affection for Katie, truly wanting her to have every wish fulfilled for their special day. Inspired by this loving couple, I went into action knowing their wishes, price range and special touches to get this celebration & party started!

So many to choose from, but only one that captures your heart and ends the search. One day, driving up the coast they happen upon the Montage in Laguna Beach, they step inside and fall in love. This is one of the most stunning beachfront wedding locations in Orange County… casual elegance, perfect for the bride and groom to be!

Talk about making a splash! Katie & Ernie have many ahead of them. Yes, what looks like what is about to happen above, actually happens. The wave crept up on all of us, and flooded the brides gown in sea water! These become the fun, memorable moments and stories… believe it or not! While we had a moment in wet, sandy wedding dress, the brides lace organza quickly recovered. We shook the sand out, drove fast in a golf cart to let it air dry, and before you could say ” Welcome Mr & Mrs…”, she was dancing her first dance and no one was the wiser.

While the bride and groom had a beautiful, sunset, wedding ceremony, that was the end of their traditions. No bouquet tosses in this wedding. Following dinner on the lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the guests were guided to a indoor/outdoor lounge complete with white leather couches, colorfully lit cubes, and dance music. Peter Leal, the assistant photographer for Kendra Weddings arranged guests in cool, sexy poses to complete a chic, beautiful, wedding. Perfect for a beautiful, cool couple in love.

Last but least, Katie and I share a moment, a laugh and the real wedding day begins, with all the plans in place and fun for good measure as we have a lot to look forward to. It was truly my pleasure to work with and be inspired by such a darling couple!

We are so happy to announce that we are planning an upcoming wedding on September 3, 2011 at the Wyndham Hotel in Costa Mesa. Terri Collins, the Director of Catering at the Wyndham is one of these passionate professionals that we are so lucky to work with. The Wyndham is finishing up a 40 million dollar remodel that takes this venue to a whole new level of sophistication and style, making it a beautiful venue for weddings and receptions. The happy couple chose the new Silver Trumpet Restaurant at the Wyndham for the reception and this showcases the musical theme the bride and groom envisioned beautifully.
Also for this Wedding in the Works… every memorable event starts with an invitation. Liz King at Li-K Designs is working with us to set the tone for our special couple with a custom designed wedding invitation. These are truly beautiful invitations that capture the bride and grooms style and guests will want to save and hold on to long after the special day.
Every detail is a special touch, Sussanna Davidson with French Buckets Floral will be creating the beautiful bouquets and gorgeous tabletops for this Fall Wedding.
